The Food and Drug Department has expanded the utilization of the NSWA+ system to facilitate the issuance of import permits for food in five more provinces in Lao PDR.
The issuance of permits by NSWA+ for the importation of food has proved to be highly effective and efficient in tracking documents while minimizing resources, cost and time for the Food and Drugs Department, Ministry of Health.
Following successful testing of the system with 20 companies since January 9, 2023, the Department plans to expand its use to additional International Borders that utilize the NSWA+ system in five provinces, namely Luang Namtha, Khammouan, Savannakhet, Champasak, and Vientiane Capital.
