The Food and Drugs Department is currently expanding the utilization of the NSWA+ system to facilitate the issuance of import permits for food in five more provinces in Lao PDR

The issuance of permit by NSWA+ for importation of food has proved to be highly effective and efficient in tracking documents while minimizing resources, reduce cost and time for the Food and Drugs Department, Ministry of Health.

Following a successful testing of the system with 20 companies since January 9, 2023, the Department plans to expand its use to additional International Borders that utilizing the NSWA+ system in five provinces, namely Luang Namtha, Khammouan, Savannakhet, Champasak, and Vientiane Capital.

The ANOTHAI OPEN TENNIS TOURNAMENT 2023 prepared Lao tennis for the 32nd Southeast Asia Games, Sponsored by BIVAC LAO (NSWA+)

The ANOTHAI OPEN TENNIS TOURNAMENT 2023 has successfully concluded, with the aim of preparing the National Lao Tennis team for their participation in the 32nd Southeast Asia Game in Cambodia in May 2023. Additionally, the tournament sought to enhance the skills and abilities of tennis players at all levels, in order to promote active participation in the sport.

The competition took place from April 21st - 31st, 2023 at the Anothai Sporting Club, and was proudly sponsored by BIVAC LAO (NSWA+). The cup presentation ceremony was presided over by Mr. Stephane Gil, the CEO of BIVAC LAO.

Good news! The Food and Drug Department of the Ministry of Health has already integrated the NSWA+ system to "issue the permit of importing food"!

To simplify business operations, avoid slow progress, and transform to digitalization in trade formalities to make them faster and easier.

The Food and Drug Department has officially "issued the permit of importing food" in five provinces, including Vientiane Capital, Khammuane, Savannakhet, Champasack, and Luangnamtha, in the National Single Window Asycuda+ system, effective January 9, 2023.

Last Friday 11 November 2022, Customs Department, Ministry of Finance and NSWA+ team held the "NSWA+ system training and electronic signature instruction of trade formalities process" for over 40 companies in Lao PDR.

 

The NSWA+ training demonstrated the update system that integrates ASYCUDA functions directly into the National Single Window system, where EOs and Shipping agents can capture the ASEAN Customs Declaration Document (ACDD) directly in NSWA+ without the need to separately login into ASYCUDA.

The Lao National Single Window system has been formally implemented at Savannakhet International Checkpoint.

 

On July 19, 2022, the Lao National Single Window system was formally deployed at Savannakhet International Checkpoint to manage the import and export of goods and equipment (including tax-exempt items) at Friendship Bridge II International Checkpoint, Dansavan International Checkpoint, and Savan-Seno Special Economic Zone customs office (Dry Port). According to official notification No.1885 issued by the Ministry of Finance on July 18, 2022

 

The system provides a one-stop-shop for economic operators from permits to ease of payments through BCEL and LDB Bank online applications, including Smart Tax, I-Banking, BCEL One, Corporate Banking, cash, money transfers, and cheques.

 

LNSW is actively working toward implementing its fully digital system across all major international checkpoints in Lao PDR by 2022.

Champasack officially deployed LNSW system

 

LNSW continues to digitalize customs operations and simplify trade formalities by deploying its Single Window system to manage the import-export and transit of goods and equipment at Champasack province including: Vangtao International Customs Checkpoint, Customs Office at Vungtao Dry Port and Nong Nok Khiene International Border.

 

The launch was conducted on September 23, 2022 by Champasak Customs Department, Ministry of Finance, and BIVAC Lao, and was chaired by Deputy Director General of the Customs Department, Ministry of Finance, Mr Saymanolin Sinbandhit, and Head of Customs in Pakse province, Mr. Bounpheng Kemmala.

The system training for business operators involved in food importation

 

The Food and Drug Division of the Ministry of Health and BIVAC (LAO) Co., LTD held a training session on how to utilize the Lao National Single System (LNSW), as well as a discussing the issuance process of electronic import formalities for more than 20 business operators involved in importing food products.

 

The training was held on September 16, 2022 at the Lao Plaza Hotel, chaired by Mr. Bounsou Keohavong, director-general of the Food and Drug Department (MOH), and Mr. Stephane GIL, CEO of Bivac Lao, and was attended by government and business sectors representative.

New Single Window concession: Laos

BIVAC (LAO) has signed an agreement to implement and operate a National Single Window in the Lao People's Democratic Republic.

 

Signed on 28 January 2013 in Vientiane, Laos, the agreement takes the form of a joint venture between the Government of Laos' Ministry of Finance and BIVAC (LAO). The initial concession period is for 10 years of full operation, and covers all borders and airports. The Government will collaborate with BIVAC (LAO) to ensure the Single Window works efficiently, and meets agreed objectives.

 

Through the National Single Window all users will electronically submit forms for import, export and transit procedures. The National Single Window covers all stakeholders in both the private and the public sector, including importers, exporters, traders, government agencies, the customs department, institutions such as banks….

 

Promoted by international bodies, and in line with ASEAN targets, National Single Window represents an important mechanism for countries looking to speed up clearance of goods through customs corridors.
